Pakistan has launched the Pak ID mobile app, developed by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), to help people apply for visas on arrival.
The Pak ID app efficiently allows travellers from 120 countries to apply for business and tourist visas. Features like status tracking allow users to monitor their application progress. The app also supports face recognition and passport and document reading capabilities, making it simple to complete the visa application process online.
Pakistan’s online visa system is now available to citizens from 192 countries, with 120 countries eligible for visa-on-arrival. This makes it more accessible than ever for international travellers to visit Pakistan without the need for traditional visa procedures.
New Digital Services for Pakistani Citizens
In addition to its visa services, the Pak ID app simplifies obtaining Computerized National Identity Cards (CNIC) and Family Registration Certificates (FRC). Introduced in 2024, this app allows Pakistani citizens to apply for these essential documents from the comfort of their homes.
Gone are the days of waiting in long queues at NADRA centres. With the Pak ID app, users can complete their applications online and deliver their documents directly to their doorstep. Features like photo uploads, fingerprint verification, and online payments ensure a smooth and convenient user experience.
The Pak ID app also caters to overseas Pakistanis, enabling them to apply for CNICs from abroad. This digital transformation is a major leap forward in reducing the time and effort involved in obtaining critical identification documents.
With its user-friendly interface and modern technology, the Pak ID app has made visa and ID document applications easier than ever before, ensuring that citizens and travellers benefit from efficient, hassle-free services.
