Pakistan has accepted an invitation to join the International Board of Peace, a global initiative aimed at achieving sustainable peace in Gaza, the Foreign Office of Pakistan said on Tuesday.
A spokesperson said Pakistan will participate under the Gaza peace framework aligned with United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803. Islamabad expects the board to help secure a permanent ceasefire, expand humanitarian assistance, and support post-conflict reconstruction in Gaza.
The Foreign Office reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for rebuilding Gaza and addressing the urgent humanitarian needs of the Palestinian people. It also reiterated Pakistan’s full backing for the Palestinian right to self-determination.
Restating its long-standing stance, Pakistan said it supports a two-state solution based on pre-1967 borders, with an independent Palestinian state and Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.
