The National Security Advisors of Pakistan and India have met in the Thai capital of Bangkok to discuss important issues between the two counties.

The meeting was held days after a brief meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on the sidelines of UN Climate Change Summit in Paris.

Spokesman for the Foreign Office confirmed that a meeting between Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Lt. General (retd) Nasir Khan Janjua and his Indian counterpart Ajit Doval took place in pleasant and constructive atmosphere.

The meeting which took place in the presence of foreign secretaries from both the sides discussed all the outstanding issues including Kashmir and the Line of Control.

The meeting came after last week’s brief interaction of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on November 30.

Both the leaders talked for couple of a minutes sitting next to each other in a meeting which Nawaz Sharif dubbed as “good”.

Following the brief meeting of both the prime ministers in France, Indian media reports suggested that External Affairs Minister Sushma Swrajaj may visit Islamabad on December 8 to attend a regional conference on Afghanistan.

Tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad ran high since Narendra Modi swept into power last year. Pakistan prime minister had attended swearing in ceremony of Modi in New Delhi.
