The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a heatwave alert, forecasting extreme temperatures across the country from April 26 to April 30, 2025, due to a high-pressure system.
Daytime temperatures in southern regions, including Sindh, southern Punjab, and Baluchistan, are expected to be 5–7°C above normal, potentially lasting until May 1.

Several areas are already experiencing intense heat, with Dadu in Sindh recording a high of 45°C, alongside 42°C in Nawabshah, Larkana, and Sibi. Southern Punjab districts like Dera Ghazi Khan and Rahim Yar Khan hit 39°C.
Karachi faces hot and humid conditions, with temperatures expected to reach 38°C. On Friday, six districts, Dadu, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Lasbela, and Sibi, recorded 45°C.

The PMD warns residents to take precautions as the heatwave grips most plains. Authorities urge staying hydrated and avoiding direct sunlight to mitigate health risks.
