On Saturday, April 12, 2025, gold prices in Pakistan soared to new heights. The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reported an increase of Rs1,800, bringing the price of gold to Rs340,600 per tola. Additionally, the price for 10 grams rose by Rs1,543, reaching Rs292,009.
This followed Friday’s significant jump when gold increased by Rs10,000 to Rs338,800 per tola. In comparison, Saturday’s rise pushed the record even higher. The surge in gold prices in Pakistan shows no signs of slowing down.

International markets mirrored the trend. On Friday, gold reached $3,236 per ounce, according to APGJSA. This included a $20 premium and an $18 daily increase. However, silver remained steady at Rs 3,234 per tola locally.
Investors frequently seek refuge in gold during uncertain times. Recent global trade tensions and economic shifts have heightened demand for this precious metal. As a safe-haven asset, gold’s value typically rises during such periods. This global trend is also evident in the market in Pakistan.
