The Foreign Office (FO) earlier today said that, “Pakistan was firm on pursuing an indiscriminate and unequivocal drive against terrorism in pursuance of the national consensus.”

“Pakistan has time again made it very clear that it is fully resolved to eradicate the menace of terrorism and is not making any distinction in this regard” the Foreign Office spokesman said in a weekly media briefing in Islamabad at the Foreign Office.

Spokesman Nafees Zakaria said there was a national consensus that terrorism must be forged with absolute resolve.

“Pakistan is the biggest victim of terrorism. Unlike some elements in other states all institutions and segments of society in Pakistan are united [over the issue] he said.

The Spokesman condemned the terrorist incident in Peshawar earlier yesterday that took several innocent lives.

To a question about the formal meeting between Advisor to Prime Minister Sartaj Aziz and his Indian counterpart Sushma Swarajto be held in Nepal the spokesman said the agenda of the meeting was open.

He said the meeting was not specifically meant to discuss the prospects of any upcoming meeting of the prime ministers of Pakistan and India on the sidelines of Nuclear Security Summit in Washington.
