Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Friday that Pakistan will introduce enhanced security features in its passports to prevent forgery and improve document integrity.
He made the remarks during a visit to the Beijing Public Security Passport Bureau, where officials briefed him on China’s advanced passport issuance and immigration control systems. Director General Sun Yu received the minister on arrival.
During the visit, Mohsin Naqvi toured multiple departments of China’s Exit and Entry Administration. He observed the full passport production process, including application screening, biometric verification, printing, and final issuance. The interior minister praised the efficiency and speed of China’s entry and exit system, calling it a strong example of technology-driven governance. He said Pakistan has already developed a secure passport and immigration framework and is now upgrading it further to align with international best practices.
Mohsin Naqvi added that Pakistan’s modern entry-exit control system is being designed along similar lines, with a focus on digital solutions, stronger security layers, and faster processing times.
The visit is part of Pakistan’s broader strategy to modernise its immigration infrastructure, strengthen passport security, and reduce the risk of document misuse and forgery.
