Pakistan’s ODI captain Azhar Ali won the toss and elected to field first in the first One-Day International against New Zealand in Wellington earlier today.
Greens skipper Azhar Ali after winning the toss said that “we will try to get early wickets in the match to put pressure on the Black Caps.”
“I am hopeful of good performance from team’s young players,” he said, adding that Pakistan was taking to field with complete game plan.
“As a captain, it will be a challenge to do well in New Zealand but we are determined to win the series,” he said.
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson said that condition was good for batting. “ODI cricket was bit different from Twenty20,” he said.
New Zealand are playing Henry Nicholls for the injured Ross Taylor. Pakistan has excluded injured Shoaib Malik from playing elven.
