On Saturday, the Pakistan Coast Guards seized drugs worth approximately $34.241 million from the Uthal and Pasni areas of Balochistan in two separate operations.
In the first operation, the Coast Guards recovered and seized 187 bags of narcotics, over 2,000 kilograms, in Pasni, which have an estimated international market value of $34.241 million.
Meanwhile, in Uthal, at a checkpoint, the Coast Guards confiscated 3,595 kilograms of narcotics from a bus en route from Quetta to Karachi. The narcotics were intended for smuggling out of the country. An investigation is underway to identify the origins and intended destination of the smuggled drugs.
Additionally, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted ten nationwide operations, resulting in the seizure of 2,133 kilograms of drugs and the arrest of seven individuals. Notable recoveries included 580 grams of heroin from a parcel destined for the UK intercepted at Lahore Airport’s DHL office.
Other operations saw the recovery of 460 grams of methamphetamine (Ice) from a passenger travelling to Bahrain from Karachi Airport and 1.4 kilograms of Ice from three parcels at a Quetta courier office. Moreover, 14 grams of cannabis were found in a parcel from the UK at a Rawalpindi courier office.
Substantial quantities of hashish were also seized, including 2,080 metric tons from Fort Abdullah and 33 kilograms from various locations in Karachi and near Sukran Road Hub.
