Pakistan achieved notable success in its debut at the 3rd European Bodybuilding Championship in Budapest, Hungary, winning two medals. Shehzad Qureshi secured a bronze medal in the Bodybuilding category, and Arsalan Baig secured a silver medal in the Sports Physique category.
Sohail Anwar, General Secretary of the Pakistan Bodybuilding Federation (PBBF), praised the athletes for their exceptional performance. The Ambassador of Pakistan to Hungary, Asif Hussain Memon, also supported the competitors.
The Hungarian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (HBPSF) organized the championship, which received backing from the Hungarian government. The event began on May 18th, and Pakistani participants left for Europe two days earlier, on May 16th.
Anwar highlighted the event’s historic nature and thanked the Hungarian government for facilitating this opportunity. He remarked on the significance of showcasing Pakistani talent and dedication in Europe.
Historically, Pakistani bodybuilders have been successful in competitions organized by the World Bodybuilding and Physique Federation (WBPF), Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Federation (ABBF), and South Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Federation (SABBF), accumulating 97 medals to date. This record underlines the PBBF’s confidence in its athletes’ continued success on international stages.
