The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) announced that it and all banks and financial entities will close from April 10th to 12th in observance of Eid ul Fitr.
This decision follows a federal government notification specifying a three-day holiday for offices on a five-day schedule and a four-day break for those on a six-day schedule from April 10th to 13th.
“The prime minister has approved Eid-ul-Fitr public holidays,” the notification stated, undersigned by Muhammad Aqib Gulzar from the Press Information Department.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicts Eid ul Fitr will start on April 10th, expecting the Shawwal moon sighting on April 9th.
The crescent, visible at Maghrib prayer on April 9th, was born on April 8th at 11:21 PM. It will be 19 to 20 hours old by the following day.
