The Pakistan-Afghanistan border clashes latest update indicates a sharp escalation overnight, with Pakistan Air Force jets reportedly striking targets in Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province. Security sources said a major ammunition depot was destroyed during the operation.
Officials reported that retaliatory action followed what they described as unprovoked cross-border attacks on Pakistani positions. According to government sources, dozens of Afghan Taliban personnel were killed and many more were wounded during the exchanges.
Pakistan Afghanistan Border Clashes Latest Update: Operation Details
Under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haqq, Pakistani forces launched counter-strikes targeting multiple militant positions across the border. Spokesperson Mosharraf Zaidi confirmed that counter-attacks were ongoing as of early morning.

Authorities stated that several Taliban posts were destroyed and others captured. Security sources also claimed that key installations, including ammunition depots and headquarters in Nangarhar, Kandahar, and Paktia, were hit.
In addition, officials reported the destruction of tanks, artillery guns, and armoured vehicles during the operation. Pakistani forces also targeted posts near border crossings, including the Kharlachi terminal in Kurram district.

According to official statements, no Pakistani posts were overrun. Government representatives maintained that Pakistani troops sustained limited casualties and that no soldiers were captured.
Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar said the Afghan Taliban initiated hostilities and accused certain social media accounts of spreading misinformation about the clashes. He stressed that Pakistan’s armed forces were responding decisively to protect territorial integrity.
Security sources further stated that attempts to attack Pakistani check posts using quadcopters were thwarted. They added that all such drones were shot down.

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting reiterated that Pakistan would take all necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and the safety of its citizens. There was no immediate official response from Taliban authorities in Kabul.
