Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif earlier today said that Pakistan had achieved irreversible economic stability and doubled the developmental budget in past three years.

He was speaking during his visit tothe Planning Commission where he was briefed by Minister for Planning Development and Reform Ahsan Iqbal on the progress of various development projects in the country.

“Our focus is on implementing energy and other infrastructure projects at the earliest,” the prime minister said, according to a statement issued by the PM House.

He said investment and economic growth was linked with successful implementation of these projects. “We cannot tolerate delays in the implementation of these projects,” he said. He further said transparency and efficiency must go hand in hand.

The Prime Minister also directed that he be regularly briefed on the development projects across the country to ensure effective monitoring and their timely completion.
