The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) reports that 5,254 candidates, including representatives from various political parties and independents, aim for 266 National Assembly seats nationwide in the 2024 general elections. Of the 6,999 candidates initially qualified, 1,737, or 24.81%, chose to withdraw.

Furthermore, for the provincial assemblies, 12,853 candidates pursue 593 seats, with post-scrutiny eligibility confirmed for 17,164 individuals across Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan. Withdrawals in this segment reached 4,233.

On January 28, the ECP outlined the establishment of 90,675 polling stations for these elections. Of these, 25,320 are for male voters and 23,952 for female voters, with an additional 41,403 serving both.

Punjab will host the majority, with 50,944 stations, followed by Sindh with 19,006, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 15,697, and Balochistan with 5,028. The country will set up 276,398 polling booths, allocating 128,846 for women and 147,552 for men.
