Kanye West’s team has reported the theft of over $1 million worth of Yeezy GAP clothing from his Los Angeles warehouse, leading to uncertainty about its recovery.
According to TMZ, Milo Yiannopoulos, West’s chief of staff, revealed that approximately 60,000 pieces, valued at around $1.2 million, were missing. The disappearance was noticed just days before a fan account advertised a sale in L.A., offering Yeezy GAP items at significantly reduced prices.
Upon investigation, law enforcement was informed of the situation. They attended the sale but faced challenges in verifying the legality of the merchandise due to incomplete receipt documentation provided by the event organizers. The inability to confirm the origin of all items, coupled with the absence of a formal police report from West, prevented the police from taking any immediate action.
Yiannopoulos firmly contends that the merchandise was stolen, citing a lack of sales records and the team’s policy against bulk sales. In response, West’s team is prepared to take legal steps, including filing a police report and issuing a cease and desist letter to the sale’s organizer, accusing them of fabricating documents to mislead the authorities.
Moreover, Yiannopoulos mentions that a suspect has been tentatively identified, and West’s team is ready to assist law enforcement with any information that could lead to a resolution.
