Islamabad: Oracle and the Government of Balochistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Thursday on capacity-building program to train local youth on new software and hardware technologies.
In statement issued from the US Embassy in Islamabad said. The MOU is the direct result of an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) trade mission to the United States led by U.S. Ambassador Richard Olson and Board of Investment Chairman Miftah Ismail in October 2014.
The trade mission has already generated millions of dollars in new business for Pakistani and American ICT companies.
In the MOU signing ceremony, Ambassador Olson said, “Today’s agreement represents a new area of U.S.-Pakistan ICT collaboration that goes beyond private sector deals to embrace public-private partnerships and leverage tech innovations to improve the lives of people. We salute Oracle for its commitment to the Pakistani ICT sector.”
Oracle is currently working with the Government of Balochistan to provide the company’s “Safe City” products to bring cutting edge IT solutions to increase public safety and security throughout the province.
