“The opposition parties have ended their boycott of the budget session after a meeting with government representatives”, Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch announced earlier yesterday.
The announcement came after a meeting between Dr Abdul Malik and opposition leader Maulana Abdul Wassey. Talking to the media, Dr Malik said that the opposition’s reservations will be addressed soon.
According to reports, the chief minister met PML-N parliamentary leader Sanaullah Zehri, PML-Q leader Sheikh Jaffer Khan Mandokhel, and parliamentary leader of Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal.
Mir Abdul Qudus Bizenjo, the acting speaker of the Balochistan Assembly, and other provincial legislators also met the opposition leader and held a detailed discussion about the factors that led to the boycott. The opposition had some grievances regarding their development projects and the assembly’s standing committees.
