Today, OpenAI, led by Sam Altman, is poised to reveal “magical” updates during a scheduled livestream, potentially including a new voice assistant to detect sarcasm.
A report from The Information indicates that the company might introduce a multimodal AI assistant. This enhanced AI could significantly improve current automated customer service technologies by integrating advanced logical reasoning and better processing of images and audio.
The assistant is designed to perform various currently unachievable tasks, such as tutoring students in writing or math or providing real-time information about one’s environment, like translating signage or offering guidance on vehicle repairs.
Despite these advancements, the technology still faces challenges such as “AI hallucinations,” where the model generates incorrect or irrelevant information.
The enhancements unveiled today could later be incorporated into the widely used ChatGPT, enhancing its utility for a broad user base.
