The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police launched the One Info App to provide citizens with immediate access to emergency assistance and to report suspicious or criminal activities.
Shakir Hussain Dawar, the Director-General of Safe City, emphasised the application’s role in enhancing public safety by offering a user-friendly alternative to the traditional 15 emergency hotline.
Dawar explained that the app, which is available for both Android and iOS, features two buttons: a green button for reporting suspicious activities and a red button for requesting immediate police action at crime scenes. Reports are either addressed instantly or recorded for timely follow-up, ensuring an efficient response. The app’s user-friendly design aims to enhance communication between citizens and the police, ultimately improving security in Islamabad.

The One Info App exemplifies the ICT Police’s commitment to using technology for the protection of citizens, supporting the initiatives of the Punjab Safe Cities Authority. Dawar encouraged residents to download the app for fast access to police services, particularly in emergencies, thereby enhancing community trust and safety in the capital.
The launch coincides with regional safety initiatives, including Karachi’s traffic plan for Independence Day events, emphasising a wider commitment to public security throughout Pakistan. The introduction of the app could serve as a model for other cities, improving police responsiveness and encouraging public involvement in urban safety efforts.
