The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), and Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC) have introduced the Rahguzar mobile app to help consumers locate fuel stations.
The Rahguzar app Uses Geographic Information System (GIS) technology to enable users to identify legal fuel stations and outlets across Pakistan.
This app marks a significant step towards digitalising Pakistan’s oil supply chain. The launch ceremony took place at OGRA’s head office in Islamabad.
The Rahguzar app allows consumers, district governments, and law enforcement agencies to identify illegal fuel outlets, commonly called “box stations.” Consumers can also use the app to report illegal outlets, overcharging, or quality issues, ensuring transparency and accountability. Additionally, users can register complaints, empowering the public and fostering a more transparent system.

Chairman OGRA shared that this initiative began with discussions between OGRA and FBR in August 2024. He emphasized that the launch of ‘Rahguzar’ is the first phase of a broader track-and-trace system. This system aims to enhance accountability, prevent illegal activities, and strengthen the oil industry’s integrity. The Chairman described the app as a game-changer in addressing challenges such as illegal petrol pumps and corruption.
