The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) has announced the revival of crude oil production at the Rajian Oil Field in Chakwal district.
The company disclosed this development in a recent stock exchange filing, noting that production had resumed after a 4.5-year break due to technical issues.
According to OGDCL, the site now produces approximately 1,000 barrels of crude oil daily. This restoration ends the operational hiatus that began in 2020 due to a technical fault that suspended oil production.

Company officials credit the successful reactivation of the wells to the implementation of advanced artificial lift technology. OGDCL has installed electric submersible pumps capable of reaching depths of 3,774 meters, thereby enabling efficient extraction at these challenging depths.
