Novak Djokovic continued his historic run at the Australian Open on Saturday with a straight-sets victory over Botic van de Zandschulp, advancing to the fourth round in Melbourne.
Djokovic won 6-3, 6-4, 7-6(4) in hot conditions as play moved under the roof at Melbourne Park. The win marked his 102nd match victory at the Australian Open, equalling the tournament record set by Roger Federer.
The result also lifted Djokovic to 400 career Grand Slam wins, making him the first player to reach that milestone. The 10-time Australian Open champion continues his pursuit of a record-setting 25th major title.
Djokovic said he felt strong but remained cautious after past injury setbacks. He stressed the importance of managing expectations and praised the current generation, naming Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner as players performing at a higher level.

Despite the heat, Djokovic controlled the opening set and sealed it with a sharp backhand winner. He broke early in the second set and maintained pressure as his opponent struggled to respond.
A tense moment followed when Djokovic struck a loose ball that flew close to a ball kid. Officials issued no penalty, but the incident recalled his default at the US Open in 2020.
In the third set, Djokovic slipped and later received treatment for a blister on his right foot. He recovered from a breakdown and stayed composed in the tiebreak to close out the match.
Djokovic said he narrowly avoided twisting his ankle before the fall and credited the way he landed for preventing a serious injury. The Serbian will next face either Jakub Mensik, the 16th seed, or Ethan Quinn as he continues his title bid.
