A disturbing incident involving Noora Shalash, a former high-ranking employee of the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), has surfaced through a viral video showing her engaging in an antisemitic tirade against Jewish men in New York City.
Shalash, who previously directed government affairs at CAIR’s Kentucky branch, was filmed during the confrontation in an office building last Thursday.
The footage reveals Shalash aggressively chasing a Jewish individual into an elevator, where she makes inflammatory remarks about Jesus and Jews. In a shocking moment, she threatens the man with assassination, citing the terror group Islamic State. During her questioning by authorities, Shalash further exacerbated the situation with explicit antisemitic statements, including “F**k the Jew. F**k the Zionist.”
Following the episode, Shalash was charged with harassment. Initially posted by the watchdog group StopAntisemitism on social media platforms like X/Twitter, the video quickly spread, amassing over a million views and sparking significant public backlash.
In response to the uproar, CAIR National issued a statement clarifying that Shalash has not been affiliated with the organization for five years and currently has no role in the group. They condemned her antisemitic comments and expressed their opposition to all forms of hatred, including anti-Palestinian racism and anti-Muslim hate.
This episode has prompted a wider conversation on social media and among civil rights organizations about the critical need to address and denounce hate speech unequivocally.
