Nokia introduced “MX Workmate,” an AI-driven tool designed to create messages for industrial workers, which includes alerts on equipment issues and suggestions for enhancing factory efficiency, utilizing generative AI for text that mirrors human writing.
Aimed at augmenting Nokia’s existing industrial communication technologies, “MX Workmate” offers early malfunction warnings and repair guidance, among other features, to improve production and safety, as explained by Stephane Daeuble, Nokia’s Enterprise Solutions Marketing Head.
Leveraging its expertise in 4G and 5G networks, Nokia aims to assist workers in navigating vast data streams, addressing the skilled labour shortfall in manufacturing. With generative AI’s rise, marked by ChatGPT’s success, Nokia ensures “MX Workmate” adheres to operational technology standards, though adoption may require time for trust-building and adjustment.
Daeuble noted ongoing research to address AI inaccuracies, emphasizing the importance of precise, accountable AI content. The tool, expected to undergo real-world tests in about a year, will debut at Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress.
