With the Nintendo Switch 2 launch set for June 5, 2025, pre-orders have reopened in both the US and UK, and high demand continues to drive rapid sellouts.
The standalone console retails $449 in the US and £395 in the UK, while the Mario Kart World bundle is available for $499 and £429, respectively. Select retailers are offering the hybrid console, but stock remains limited.
In the US, pre-orders began on April 24, 2025, and quickly sold out at Walmart, Best Buy, Target, and GameStop. Retailers like Best Buy, GameStop, and Target plan to restock before the official launch, with midnight pickups scheduled for June 5. Walmart guarantees delivery by 9 AM on launch day for orders placed before June 4.

Amazon does not offer a US pre-order page, while Newegg and Antonline have listings but no active pre-orders. Sam’s Club lists the Mario Kart bundle, with additional details forthcoming.
UK restocks occur more frequently, including the £429 Mario Kart bundle. My Nintendo Store UK provides invite-only pre-orders for Nintendo Switch Online members, with stock drops scheduled for May 8. Retailers like Amazon UK, Very, and Currys offer bundle deals, some priced as high as £569.
The Switch 2 features a 7.9-inch 1080p display, magnetic Joy-Con 2 controllers, and a GameChat with a camera. According to Tom’s Guide, accessories include the Pro Controller and Hori’s Piranha Plant camera. The Mario Kart World bundle, which includes a game valued at $79.99 or £74.99, offers a savings of $30 or £40 compared to purchasing items separately.

Gaming analyst Dr. Lisa Tran from UCLA recommends that customers monitor restock trackers and set up retailer accounts to secure a console, especially in the final 48 hours before launch.
Gamers in the US should check Best Buy, GameStop, and Target for restocks, while those in the UK should monitor My Nintendo Store and Very. CNET suggests registering for Nintendo’s invite system and enabling notifications from preferred retailers to stay ahead of stock updates.
