The New Gwadar International Airport is scheduled to commence operations on August 14.
Sources from the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) have confirmed that all preparations are complete for this launch. The inauguration will feature a preliminary ceremony conducted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
The development of the New Gwadar International Airport has cost Rs54.98 billion. It is located 26 km northeast of the current Gwadar airport. This new facility, provided by the Pakistani government, spans 3,000 acres. It joins the new Islamabad Airport as the country’s second greenfield airport.
Flight operations at Gwadar Airport have been temporarily halted due to heavy rainfall.

The airport is designed to accommodate various aircraft types, including ATR 72, Airbus A-300, and Boeing models B-737 and B-747. It will serve both domestic and international flights. Presently, 96% of the operational facilities are complete, with the remaining development expected to conclude by December 2025.
