The New Gwadar International Airport (NGIAP) celebrated a major milestone this Tuesday when a Calibration Aircraft successfully tested landed on its newly constructed runway.
The Rescue and Fire Fighting Services Department of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) commemorated the event with a traditional water cannon salute.
This achievement showcases the collaborative efforts of the Chinese and Pakistani project teams. The airport is expected to be fully completed and operational by the end of this year, with significant contributions from the Chinese Project Team led by Mr. Ding Kan PD-CACC.
Appreciation is also extended to the Pakistani project team, led by Sadiq Ur Rehman, Director General of Airport Services and former NGIAP project director, and other PCAA officials.
The Technical Directorates of the PCAA and the Flight Inspection Unit (FIU) have also played a crucial role in quickly reaching this milestone.
The completion of the Gwadar airport is projected to significantly stimulate the development of the port city and its adjacent areas, thereby improving the lives of the residents of Balochistan Province and the Coastal Region.
