A new national anthem will be released to celebrate Gilgit-Baltistan’s liberation from Dogra rule on November 1.
Performed by local artists Zeeshan Hamza and Hashmi, the anthem captures the stunning landscapes of Gilgit-Baltistan and highlights its people’s bravery, culture, and traditions.
The anthem, with its powerful melodies, commemorates the region’s fight against oppression and the local uprising that aimed to join Pakistan.
This pivotal movement started on November 1, 1947, and concluded with the cessation of the Dogra rule on August 14, 1948, marked by the first raising of Pakistan’s flag in Gilgit.
The lyrics—”Our ancestors’ sacrifices will never go in vain; we hold the spirit of martyrdom; this passion is our treasure”—reflect a deep connection to heritage and embody the enduring spirit of the Gilgit-Baltistan people.
This anthem also promotes unity, love, and peace, resonating with the core values of the Gilgit-Baltistan community.
