On Friday, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) directed distribution companies (DISCOs) to modify their load-shedding schedules, ensuring a continuous electricity supply during ongoing examinations.
Nepra required DISCOs to adopt all necessary measures to adhere to its directive, focus on seamless exam administration, and safeguard student welfare. It cautioned that non-compliance might lead to additional regulatory measures.
Nepra’s statement disclosed that DISCOs have conducted load shedding during exam periods, significantly hindering students, especially during exam times.
The authority has now mandated DISCOs to reevaluate their load-shedding plans to maintain power without interruptions during exam timings, emphasizing the critical need for stable electricity for consumers.
Nepra reiterated the importance of uninterrupted service during exams, noting that power disruptions could detrimentally affect student performance and academic outcomes. Continued failure to comply could trigger further regulatory actions.
