NED University of Engineering and Technology has changed its 2024 admission criteria due to poor intermediate exam outcomes from the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK).
In response to the poor results of the Board of Intermediate Education Karachi (BIEK), NED University of Engineering and Technology has lowered the eligibility criteria for admission to various departments for 2024.
Many students failed their intermediate exams, prompting a widespread submission of scrutiny forms to BIEK. This led the interim Sindh government to establish a committee that discovered inconsistencies in the examination results, specifically identifying manipulation in the English, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics results. Eight BIEK officials have been implicated.
Consequently, NED University permits students with at least 55% in their intermediate exams to apply for the admission test, lowering the previous threshold of 60%. This decision aligns with the flawed exam outcomes reported by BIEK.
An official announcement regarding the updated admission policy awaits the university syndicate’s endorsement. NED University plans to conduct its admission tests for the upcoming session in May, as confirmed by the university’s administration.
