The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) has officially submitted the nomination papers for the party’s supreme leader, Nawaz Sharif, for the NA-130 constituency in Lahore.
PML-N Lahore leader Bilal Yaseen submitted, also the covering candidate for the same constituency. Sharif’s nomination papers have been filed with the Returning Officer and are set for scrutiny on Tuesday, December 26.
Speaking to the media, Bilal Yaseen confirmed that Nawaz Sharif plans to contest elections from both the National Assembly constituencies of Mansehra and Lahore. The party has already submitted Sharif’s papers for NA-15, Mansehra. Additionally, PML-N has filed nomination papers for Maryam Nawaz from the PP-80 constituency in Sargodha, with local party leader Sohaib Barath handling the submission.
Other Prominent Leaders Joining the Electoral Race
Chairman of the People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto, is actively participating in the elections, having reached Shahdadkot to file his nomination for NA-196. He is also contesting from NA-128, Lahore, with party members Chaudhry Aslam Gill, Faisal Mir, and Qasim Gillani submitting the papers on his behalf.
Meanwhile, PPP Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari’s papers have been filed for NA-207, Nawabshah. In other developments, former Prime Minister and PPP leader Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has submitted his papers for NA-148, Multan, while PML-N’s Ahsan Iqbal is contesting from NA-76, Narowal, and a provincial assembly seat PP-54, Zafarwal.
Furthermore, PML-N leader Khurram Dastagir has filed for NA-78, Gujranwala, and MQM-Pakistan’s Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui is in the race for Karachi’s NA-249 constituency, with Tariq Mansoor Advocate submitting the nomination on his behalf.
