Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif speaking in the meeting said that his government coming into power faced several formidable challenges and government has gradually overcome the challenges.
“The economy has stabilized and the incidents of terrorism have decreased, ” Sharif said.
He vowed to overcome prevailing energy crisis in the country during and focuses on progress and prosperity of the country.
He said some people want to derail the process of national development. “They only believe in protest.”
He said democracy offers right to protest but with some limits. Some people want to hinder the process of development with their negative politics, the prime minister said. But they will fail again like in 2014, he added.
He said the power load shedding in the country will come to an end in 2018.
Nawaz Sharif said that his government working on the development of Thar coalfield and 10,000 megawatts of power will be added to national grid in 2018.
In the maiden meeting of the PML-N’s working committee, after the party’s coming into power in 2013, tensions with PTI will likely to be discussed in the meeting as a key challenge to the government, sources said.
The meeting being attended by the party member of the committee from all provinces.
The political situation would be discussed in the context of the PTI announcement of a siege to federal capital Islamabad on October 30 to press its demand for Panama Leaks probe.
Earlier, Leader of the House in Senate Raja Muhammad Zafarul Haq had said that the matter of holding intra-party elections would also be part of the agenda of the meeting.
