Police arrested national footballer Shumaila Sattar for her alleged involvement in the May 9th attack on Jinnah House. The attack ensued after protestors violently reacted to the arrest of the former Prime Minister and PTI chairman in the Al-Qadir Trust corruption case.
Shumaila Sattar, the national team’s wicketkeeper, was apprehended following a geofencing investigation that led to her name. Police initiated a raid on her residence as a result of this discovery.
Sattar has been placed in jail on judicial remand, awaiting an identification parade. Further investigation involving surveillance cameras installed outside Jinnah House is ongoing.
Several politicians, activists, and former ruling party members, including the son-in-law of a past military officer and fashion designer, Khadija Shah, face trials in an anti-terrorism court due to the attacks.
