Naseem Shah’s PSL injury concerns have dealt a major blow to RawalPindi after the franchise confirmed that the fast bowler will miss the upcoming Pakistan Super League 11 matches following a side injury.
The team said Shah picked up the injury during RawalPindiz’s recent match against Karachi Kings. Management added that medical staff are closely monitoring his recovery and hope he can return near the end of the tournament, subject to his rehabilitation and fitness clearance.
RawalPindiz said the franchise fully supports the right-arm pacer during his recovery. The team also described his presence in the squad as invaluable and said it looks forward to seeing him return stronger.
Shah’s absence comes at a difficult time in the tournament. He managed only one wicket against Karachi Kings and went wicketless while conceding 51 runs in his first match for Pindiz.
The injury update comes shortly after Shah faced disciplinary action at the start of PSL 11. The Pakistan Cricket Board found him in breach of multiple clauses of its central contract and social media guidelines after a personal hearing before a three-member disciplinary committee.

The controversy stemmed from PSL 11’s opening ceremony at Gaddafi Stadium on March 27, attended by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz as the guest of honour. After the event, a post from Shah’s X account questioned her treatment, sparking debate online. Shah later said his account had been hacked and that the post was not intentional.
