The former world No. 1 posted “a little life update for 2023” on social media, including an ultrasound.
Osaka has dated rapper Cordae for years, wrote, “I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future; one thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘that’s my mom,'”
Osaka withdrew from Sunday’s Australian Open after not playing since September. She also won two U.S. Opens.
After losing in the U.S. Open’s first round, she took a mental health break and didn’t play again until the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo. A few months away gave Osaka “a new love and appreciation for the game I’ve dedicated my life to.”

Last week, 2022 Australian Open champion Ash Barty announced her pregnancy. She retired at No. 1 last year.
Osaka said she would return to tennis and attend the Grand Slam season in Melbourne next year.
