Najam Sethi, a journalist and host on Samaa TV, has made claims about internal political manoeuvres in Pakistan.
According to Sethi, when the Supreme Court of Pakistan announced the decision about reserved seats, the Pakistani establishment (referring) promptly directed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to challenge the decision and initiate a ban on Tehreek-e-Insaf. In response, Sharif reportedly asked the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ata Tarar, to hold a press conference and make an announcement without his cabinet’s knowledge.
Sethi further disclosed that the initiative to ban Tehreek-e-Insaf originated from the establishment, underscoring the influence of Pakistan’s powerful institutions in political matters.
Moreover, Sethi commented on the political disposition of Imran Khan, the leader of Tehreek-e-Insaf, noting his refusal to back down or compromise despite the typical tendency among politicians to retreat and seek a middle ground. According to Sethi, Khan remains relentless and unyielding in his political stance.
