The National Database and Registration Authority has issued an important advisory. It urges citizens to collect their Computerised National Identity Cards from NADRA offices within the prescribed timeframe to avoid complications.
In a statement on social media, NADRA stressed that applicants must collect their CNICs once the authorities approve their applications, before the deadline. The authority warned that delays will create difficulties for citizens who fail to follow the collection schedule.
Under the updated policy, NADRA will permanently discard CNICs that remain uncollected for more than three months from the assigned delivery date. In such cases, applicants must submit a fresh application and pay the applicable fees again.

To reduce inconvenience, NADRA advised citizens to use the Pak-ID mobile application. Alternatively, they can select the home delivery option at the time of applying. These services allow CNICs to be delivered directly to applicants’ registered addresses. This removes the need for repeated visits to NADRA offices.

In parallel, the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, in collaboration with NADRA, has introduced a new digital system for biometric verification. Applicants seeking new passports can now confirm their fingerprints via the Pak-ID mobile app at any time, from any location.
If fingerprint verification fails, applicants can use the facial recognition feature available within the app. To submit a passport application, citizens must visit the online portal and complete the fingerprint verification stage.
At that point, applicants should log in to the Pak-ID mobile app and select the “Online Passport” option from the biometric verification section. After entering the passport tracking ID and CNIC, users can complete fingerprint and facial recognition verification in the app.
Authorities say the digital integration aims to streamline identity and passport services, improving efficiency and accessibility for citizens nationwide.
