The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has launched a significant new digital service. Citizens in Islamabad can now complete the mandatory biometric verification for vehicle sales and purchases directly through the Pak ID mobile application.

This innovation transforms a previously tedious process. Before, vehicle owners had to visit a NADRA office in person. This often meant spending hours waiting in long queues. Now, the entire biometric step can be finished quickly and securely from home.

The new system is designed for maximum convenience. Here is how it works: First, you use the Pak ID app on your smartphone to complete the biometric verification. The process is secure and user-friendly.

After the digital verification is complete, you only need to visit the relevant government office. There, you can finalise the remaining paperwork for the vehicle transfer. This two-step method saves considerable time and effort. Alongside this new feature, NADRA has reiterated two crucial reminders for the public.

1. Collect Your CNIC Promptly

NADRA urges all citizens to collect their Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs) as soon as they are ready. This is very important.

Why? Any CNIC that remains uncollected for more than three months is disposed of, according to official policy. If this happens, you must submit a completely new application and pay the fee again. To avoid this inconvenience and extra cost, please pick up your card as soon as you are notified.

2. Update Records for Deceased Relatives

NADRA also requests citizens to help keep the national database accurate. If a family member passes away, it is essential to cancel their CNIC.

You can easily do this by visiting the nearest NADRA office or using the Pak ID app. This simple action helps prevent potential issues and ensures the integrity of national records.
