Nadeem Afzal Chan, the former special assistant to ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan on parliamentary coordination, has categorically refused to testify against Khan in the £190 million settlement case.
Chan, who was approached to become a witness in this high-profile case, has chosen not to provide testimony against the PTI founding chief despite being involved in the initial inquiries.
Chan explained that his decision is rooted in his principles, particularly in light of Khan’s incarceration. He stated, “When he [Khan] was in power, I used to tell him these things. However, he is in jail now, and my school of thought is not that of talking against someone who is oppressed or incarcerated.” The statement reflects his stance of not speaking against vulnerable or disadvantaged people.
Witness List in NCA £190 Million Scandal and Revelations by Zubaida Jalal
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has prepared a witness list for the NCA £190 million scandal, which includes names like former defence minister Pervaiz Khattak, Zubaida Jalal, Nadeem Afzal Chan, and Azam Khan.
In addition to these political figures, the list includes officials from the Asset Recovery Unit, the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA), and the cabinet division. Former PTI Minister Zubaida Jalal, one of the witnesses, made significant revelations to NAB regarding the scandal. She disclosed her attempts to push for an investigation. She claimed that the £190 million was approved despite objections from cabinet members and that the meeting minutes were kept secret, indicating potential irregularities.
