Karachi: Electioneering for by-polls in NA-246 ended midnight on Tuesday.
According to Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ballot boxes have been dispatched to respective polling stations. Whereas voter lists and stationary stuff will be dispatched today. Pillion riding has been banned throughout the city for three days with effect from midnight today.
ECP sources also added that 357,781 ballot papers have been printed and itsis underway according with polling stations.
Ballot boxes and compartments for making polling booth have also been dispatched while the delivery of other stuff for polling stations is continuing.
Voter lists, permanent ink and stationary stuff will be delivered to polling stations in the night between April 22 and 23.
Presiding Officers, under the supervision of Rangers and Police, will bring ballot papers to polling stations early morning of 23 April.
Special passes have been issued to the polling staff to be deployed in NA-246 constituency while for the first time in Pakistan’s history installation of CCTV cameras has also been completed.
The surveillance cameras were installed on the request of the Sindh Rangers, while the pillion riding has also been banned for three days in the port city ahead of NA-246 by-polls with effect from 12:00AM Wednesday..
