A peculiar case involving missing samosas has led to an official police investigation in Himachal Pradesh, India. Five officers are under scrutiny for allegedly consuming samosas designated for Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
The samosas, meant for the Chief Minister at a government event last month, mysteriously vanished, sparking suspicions they were eaten by the officers at the event. These treats, typically deep-fried pastries filled with meat or vegetables, were specially prepared for Sukhu.
The state’s Crime Investigation Department (CID) has classified the incident as an “anti-government act,” implicating the officers in intentional misconduct and breach of government protocols.
Notices have been issued to the five officers, requiring them to submit written explanations of their actions. They are to provide their statements to a senior officer who will determine if further disciplinary actions are necessary.
This incident, widely followed by the public, raises questions about the integrity of the involved officers. It highlights broader concerns regarding the professionalism of India’s police forces and how seemingly minor misconduct can trigger significant public and governmental backlash.
