Senior lawyer Abid Zaman, who had been defending the main suspect, Armughan Qureshi, in the Mustafa Amir murder case, decided to withdraw from the case. Meanwhile, an anti-terrorism court (ATC) has extended Armughan’s remand until March 24.
The Exit: A Surprising Turn in the Case Reports indicates that Armughan’s lawyer father intends to take over the defence. As a result, Abid has stepped aside for him. This unexpected development comes at a crucial time, raising questions about the defence’s next steps. Will the father’s strategy change the course of the case? The situation remains tense and full of uncertainty.

Earlier, the ATC No. 4 heard various pleas. Defence lawyer Tahir-ur-Rehman Tanoli requested that Armughan’s mother be called a witness. Meanwhile, Khurram Abbas insisted that his father, Kamran Qureshi, should also attend. Tanoli assured that there would be no disorder during the proceedings. The judge subsequently summoned both parents. Tensions escalated quickly.
Special Prosecutor Zulfiqar Ali Arain dropped a bomb. He said Kamran threatened him. The judge asked why no complaint was filed. Arain said it’s done—under the Lawyers Protection Act. The investigating officer backed him up. The court griped about delays slowing justice.
