Newly released footage captures Armaghan, the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case, firing shots at police during a raid at his Karachi residence, intensifying the high-profile investigation.

Reported on April 19, 2025, the video shows Armaghan using a ladder to fire twice before retreating, following his refusal to confess in court, where he claimed the killing was not premeditated and alleged police used “black magic” against him.

The video, aired by Bol News, depicts Armaghan engaging police in a tense confrontation at his Defence Housing Authority (DHA) home on February 8, 2025. Firing modern firearms, he wounded a DSP and a constable during a four-hour standoff, as confirmed by SSP South Asad Raza. The footage, showing police scrambling for cover, underscores the violence of the encounter, which ended with Armaghan’s arrest after the deployment of tear gas.

In court, before Judicial Magistrate-South, Armaghan rejected a confessional statement under Section 164, citing mental distress. He admitted to killing Mustafa Amir over a personal dispute, insisting, “It was a sudden act, not pre-planned.” Contradicting himself, he claimed he only set the front of Mustafa’s car on fire, leaving him alive, stating, “It was his fate to die; I had a little part.” The court dismissed the confession petition, noting his unstable mental condition, and warned of jail regardless of his statement.

The Mustafa Amir Murder Case

Mustafa Amir, 23, was abducted from DHA on January 6, 2025, and murdered, with his charred body found in a torched car in Balochistan’s Hub area. Police allege Armaghan and his accomplice Shiraz tortured Mustafa, bound him, and burned him alive. DNA evidence from Armaghan’s residence and the crime scene, matched with Mustafa’s mother’s samples, confirmed the victim’s identity. Investigators point to a personal dispute, possibly involving a woman or business rivalry, as the motive, with Mustafa’s mother alleging a woman named Marsha’s involvement.

Armaghan’s criminal activities, including cryptocurrency scams and drug trafficking, have come under scrutiny. Operating a call centre with 30–40 employees, he amassed wealth, evidenced by eight seized luxury vehicles worth over Rs50 million. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is probing money laundering linked to his operations, which generated $300,000–$500,000 monthly.

The case is marred by claims of police corruption, with Assistant Sub-Inspector Nadeem allegedly linked to Armaghan. Mustafa’s mother accused police of favouritism, supported by evidence of Armaghan’s lavish lifestyle, including illegal lion cubs at his DHA bungalow. Armaghan’s father, Kamran Qureshi, faces accusations of tampering with evidence, further complicating the investigation.
