Karachi: Former president Gen. (retd) Pervez Musharraf predicted that mid-term elections will be held after the incumbent government completes its three years.
Presiding over All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Central Executive Committee (CEC) and Central Working Committee, he announced that, “APML will fully take part in Local Government elections after bringing it at grassroots level.”
Musharraf further added that “Party is incomplete without reorganization, however, it should be at grassroots point if you want to bring it at country-wide level,”
Musharraf warned that politics of Pakistan faces major challenge. He said Pakistan progressed during his tenure due to fair distribution of resources.
Commenting on the need of third political power in the country, the former president said, “Pakistan needs third political power.” He greeted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan for making efforts to emerge as 3rd political power.
“Change in government is to be made through change in system,” Musharraf added.
