Martyrs of Karbala mourning processions are being taken out across the country to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and  his companions in Karbala.

On the eve of 7th day of Muharram Mehendi mourning processions of Hazrat Qasim (AS) will be taken out to commemorate the martyrdom of Hazrat Qasim (R.A) who was son of Imam Hassan (R.A).

The importance of 7th Muharram is as the forces of Yazid stopped the water to the camp of Imam Hussain (AS). The water stored in Imam Husain’s camp was exhausted by the night of the sixth of Muharram and in the extreme heat of the desert; the whole seventh day and the following night were spent by the children in crying for water.

Security measures have been beefed up from today as the convoys of Pakistan Army have started moving into the key districts of Sindh including Karachi and Hyderabad as back up for security.

It should be noted that Sindh Government had issued a warning about likely terror attacks in the province from 7th till 11th Muharram.
