Pakistani religious scholar Mufti Abdul Qavi has announced plans to marry Indian actress Rakhi Sawant. The ceremony is set for February 14.
Mufti Qavi shared this information during a television appearance, noting that Sawant herself chose the date. He confirmed, “Our nikkah is happening on February 14.”
Mufti Qavi also mentioned that Sawant plans to adopt Islamic attire after the wedding. “She will dress completely in line with Islamic and Shariah guidelines, and I might adjust my own style, too,” he stated.
Previously, on a podcast, Mufti Qavi expressed his openness to marrying Sawant pending his mother’s approval. He later noted that his mother had left the decision to him but advised discretion regarding his previous marriages.
Rakhi Sawant, known for her bold statements, responded to the proposal with her characteristic humour, saying, “I’ve been dying to marry a Maulana! Qavi Sahib, since your name means ‘strong,’ why not write me some poetry instead?”
