Maulana Rafi Usmani, President of Jaamiyah Darul Uloom Karachi and famous Islamic scholar, passed away on Friday at 86.
Maulana Rafi Usmani was the older brother of the Vice President of the Islamic university, Maulana Mufti Taqi Usmani, and the son of Shafi Usmani.
Mufti Rafi Usmani was born on July 21, 1936, in the United-Indian town of Deoband. He was also the patron of the Al-Arabia, Pakistan Wifaq ul Madaris.
President Dr. Arif Alvi expressed his sorrow on the passing of the country’s grand mufti, paying respect to the scholar’s religious and scholarly contributions while expressing his sorrow.
“Mufti Rafi Usmani has contributed significantly to fiqh, hadith, and tafsir fields. His religious and intellectual contributions, as well as his services to promote religious knowledge, stated the president.
