Prominent YouTube creator MrBeast stirred confusion among internet users by announcing “quitting YouTube.”
On April Fool’s Day, the jest led to a flurry of inquiries, prompting him to reveal his intention to devote his efforts to X, formerly known as Twitter, stating, “Posting to X full time now.” Elon Musk, the owner of X and a billionaire known for his ventures into space and electric vehicles, endorsed the idea, commenting, “You should actually.”
This exchange adds to the history of playful interactions between Musk and Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast. In December 2022, Donaldson humorously inquired about becoming the CEO of X, eliciting a teasing response from Musk: “It is not out of the question.”
The interaction between MrBeast and Musk highlights their ongoing online camaraderie. MrBeast, recognized as one of the world’s top-earning YouTube personalities, boasts over 248 million subscribers on the platform and enjoys a substantial following of over 29 million on X and more than 51 million on Instagram.
In a recent development, MrBeast expanded his digital presence with an unexpected entry on the Chinese video platform Bilibili Inc.
