YouTuber Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, has openly criticized the American healthcare system after his latest video project helped 2,000 amputees receive prosthetic limbs.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), MrBeast expressed his dismay at the necessity for his intervention, stating, “Just uploaded a video where we helped 2,000 amputees walk again. Many live in America, and it feels so disgusting that in a country with this much wealth, a YouTuber is their only option to get a prosthetic leg. We need to fix this.”
Prosthetic limbs, essential for amputees to lead nearly normal lives, are expensive and need customization based on individual medical conditions, often making them inaccessible. This lack of access affects personal mobility and significantly limits employment opportunities, exacerbating financial difficulties for many.

MrBeast continued to express his frustration with the situations of those he helped, emphasizing the economic and moral implications of such healthcare gaps. A lot of the people we helped walk again literally couldn’t work because they could not walk,” he added. Even from purely an economic lens, helping them allows them to work and pay taxes. So I genuinely can’t comprehend why we don’t.”
The video has resonated widely, amassing over 17 million views and thousands of comments praising MrBeast’s efforts. Many viewers expressed gratitude and admiration, highlighting his impact on their lives through comments like, “Cleaning an ocean and beach, planting 20 million trees, curing deaf people, and now helping people to walk again. You are such a wonderful person, MrBeast.”
This initiative is part of a series of philanthropic efforts by MrBeast. In 2023, he built 100 wells to provide clean drinking water for up to 500,000 people in several African countries and raised over $300,000 through various campaigns. His consistent commitment to significant causes showcases the potential for influencers to drive change and address critical global issues.
