A large number of MQM workers blocked Shahra-i-Faisal on late Tuesday night after Rangers conducted a raid at one of party offices.
The MQM claimed that five workers were taken into custody in a raid at an office in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. Local administration and police officials are holding talks with the MQM leaders to reopen the road.
MQM plans to organize larger protests against arrest of its workers.
